Will Sachin bat for Vidhu Vinod Chopra?

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s much-anticipated next film after ’3 Idiots’, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ about a young boy and his wish to meet Sachin Tendulkar sparked rumours about the master blaster making his Bollywood debut. Unluckily for most of his millions of fans, Sachin’s first film failed to materialise. However, the filmmaker has not given up on his dream yet.

A tabloid reports that at Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s recent special bash held at their palatial home Antilla to celebrate Sachin’s hundred centuries, Vidhu was spotted talking to Sachin rather animatedly. An eyewitness even overheard the two discussing the possibility of the cricketer making a special appearance in the venture directed by Rajesh Mapuskar.

Interestingly unlike most other filmmakers Vidhu did not deny his desire to have Sachin in the film. His spokesperson confirmed, “The matter of having Sachin Tendulkar in ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ is under consideration. We can’t say anything more at this point of time.”

The film stars Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in lead roles. Vidhu had also crafted a role especially for the cricketer. A source close to the project said, “With Sachin coming back with his 100th hundred, he may be more receptive to the idea of doing this film. At the Ambani party, the first act in his honour was Pritam’s performance of an unreleased song from the film, ‘Maara Re Sixer, Maara Re Four’.”
